Lets talk bedroom decor. I started thinking about the importance of having a cozy and fun room to come home to. I spend a lot of my time here as I work from home a lot so it is very important to set the mood and surround myself with beautiful things that inspire me and make me smile.
Winters are rough in Toronto. Temperatures can reach -30 C in the months of January and February so I always enjoy sitting in bed working, watching TV, reading or snuggling with my family while watching the snow fall outside.
This year, I wanted to give my room a tropical and fun twist with wallpaper from Jumanji. They have the funnest prints and it is so easy to use! It took my hubby and I exactly 10 minutes to apply this mural to our bedroom wall. I have my eye on their Banana Leaf Print for my kitchen and their cute Flamingo Print for my daughter’s room. I have a wallpaper obsession!
I also like to change my bedding to lighter colours as we don’t get as much day light as we do in the spring and summer. I chose a white and pale pink palette from West Elm for my bedding (Fitted sheets, duvet cover and pillow shams) and 2 super cute and furry pillows and throw from Homesense. It makes a big difference when you layer it on top of your duvet… Its like sleeping on clouds! Thanks to my hubby for putting up with all my bedding ideas and sleeping in pink sheets like a champ!
Diptyque Paris candles are always a staple around my house. I love their intoxicating scents and I always use them in my flatlays as they make for the perfect props. My faves are Roses, Vanilla and Mimosa.
My Gold Moroccan Pouff is from Bohemia Design. they have the most amazing pouffs and babouches at affordable prices. I like to have an eclectic mix when I decorate so this gold pouff is both glamorous and functional.
Other things I love are photos of my daughter when she was a baby. There are the first thing I see when I wake up.
My favorite reads include: Nasty Galaxy, Capture Your Style, The Coveteur and Love Style Life. I also keep a pile of Fashion Magazines by my bed as I still enjoy holding them and ripping off pages I find inspiring. My favorite ones are Harpers Bazaar, Porter, Elle US and Marie Claire.
I also have an obsession with pineapples so this cute one is from The Pineapple Co where you can get the cutest pineapple accents for home and entertaining.
Another fun addition to my bedroom is my 2 king size pillow covers from Said The King which is a store owned by Karen King, a girl boss from Toronto who adds a super fun twist to her designs. These particular pillows say LOVE and ME on one side and F*CK, YOU on the other which made me fall in love with them even more.
This is part of the Said The King’s mantra and I couldn’t agree more:
Live by your own laws.
Be kind to your people.
Stand for something.
Bow to no one.
