We arrived at the Cancun airport around 930 a.m. It was a very early flight but we didn’t care because we were so excited and couldn’t wait to start our adventure at Royal Hideaway Playacar with Sunwing Vacations  May I suggest this link instead

I had the opportunity to travel with my good friend Carleton Eckhardt. We have known each other for 12 years and went to fashion school together. We reconnected on Instagram and this trip gave us an chance to bond and share so many experiences together. We are both in our 30’s, married and have a passion for content creation, experiences, adventure and so I she was perfect for this girls trip at Royal Hideaway Playacar.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by this beautiful building full of marble floors and stairs, something that came out of a palace. I had never seen a lobby like this before. The high ceilings, the gold accents and details, luscious flowers and lovely staff where the perfect way to start our stay.

We were taken to our beautiful room which was located right by the beach and the main pool which was the perfect location close to the restaurant, bar and all the activities.

Our suite was spacious and bright and the beds were beyond comfortable! We truly enjoyed staying together in one room. We had so many laughs, so many outfit changes, we worked on our laptops and as I mentioned earlier, we had a chance to truly bond and chat about our life and plans for the future.

The rest of the hotel is luxurious with a very exclusive and intimate feel, perfect for couples or a relaxing girls trip as this is an adults only resort.

There are many restaurant options and live entertainment every night which I thought it was a nice touch. We got to experience a Jersey Boys inspired performance while sipping on champagne and enjoying a delicious steak. We danced, cheered and had a fabulous time.

Another great thing is the fact that the 5th avenue or “Quinta Avenida” its located a 5 min cab ride away which is great if you want to venture our of the hotel after the shows and dance or do some local shopping during the day. We visited a couple of times and had a great time eating, shopping and of course, taking photos!

We also had a chance to visit the beautiful spa and had a very relaxing facial treatment, we both fell asleep it was heavenly.

Tequila testing was one of my favorite parts of our visit. We learned about the difference between silver, reposado, anejo, etc. A tough tough job, but someone had to do it ha!

The food was absolutely outstanding from room service, to snacks and dinner. There was plenty of steak, tacos, Italian food, Mexican which was so especial because I got to sing with a Mariachi band which had been a dream of mine for a long time. Dinner was magical and we ended up going to the Spanish live show after and danced the night away.

Our last day was full of activities like kayaking, volleyball, aquarobics and an outstanding Mayan show by the main pool.

The best part of the day was the private dinner we enjoyed at Las Ventanas. The staff was lovely and made sure that everything was taking care of and that we truly experienced their hospitality.

We are so grateful to have experienced this together as friends, we learned so much about each other, we laughed, we danced, ate and made memories for a lifetime. This trip would have not been as amazing without my girl Carleton. I love her so much and I cannot wait to have many, many more adventures together.

I also experienced one of the most beautiful things I have in a long time. I had time on my own to relax and think about how things and people come into your life and how important it is to live in the moment, embrace them, right now, before is too late. I embraced those moments and will keep them with me forever. I came back renewed, relaxed and hopeful for what the future holds…

I want to thank the staff at Royal Hideaway Playacar for all their efforts. We created an epic video just like this trip! Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy our visual story and make sure to check out Carleton’s very own blog post.
