My absolute favorite season has arrived and to kick off the Holidays, I had the opportunity to stay with my Fairmont Royal York family to celebrate the lighting of the Christmas Three, Holiday Displays, Santa and Window Displays! It was a magical stay as always. Fairmont brings out the dreamer in me and so to have the chance to stay with my friend Chloe Sugar was a very special treat!

I checked in and was spoiled with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered coconut macaroons, one of my favorite desserts since their recipe dates back from the 1930’s and they are delicious!

After organizing my closet for a shoot and sipping some bubbly, got ready and headed down to dinner at Benihana located at Fairmont Royal York to celebrate the opening of their sushi and sake lounge. We enjoyed a tasting menu of their best sushi, sashimi, steak, shrimp, fried rice and of course for dessert, we enjoyed an amazing chocolate flowerless cake. We also were showed a great demonstration by Jerry, who works in the teppanyaki section and gave us a private show. He was excellent and just lovely like the rest of the staff. Big thanks to Jun and the rest of his staff for their hospitality and care. Just as if the food wasn’t enough, we also enjoyed a sake tasting experience to learn the different types of sake and the best way to pair them with food. I will be coming back for sure!

The next morning we got up with excitement as the festivities were about to begin: First, it was time to check out the window displays. They truly bring the holiday spirit to Toronto so I strongly recommend checking them out. There was a Santa lounge and he was very busy greeting all the little ones who were oh so happy to see him.

Then, it was time for the lighting of the tree which brought hundreds of people to the iconic hotel lobby, there were Christmas carols, hot cocoa with whipped cream and marshmallows, the beautiful faces of children full with excitement, I felt extremely lucky to be part of such a beautiful morning at Fairmont Royal York.

Once we returned to our room, we changed back into our pjs and ordered lunch from room service. Chloe and I had onion soup, seafood pasta, pizza and cheesecake for dessert. It was absolutely delicious.

Big thanks to the staff at Fairmont Royal York for always making me feel so special and providing me with wonderful experiences that will last a lifetime.

Until very very soon!
